Quartz is one of the hardest minerals on earth, so when fabricated for surface tops use it’s arguably the most durable choice.  Unlike other mined stone slabs, quartz is produced in a factory. It can be made in pretty much any colour of the rainbow and is less likely to crack or chip compared to granite or marble. Surface tops are anywhere between 92-95% ground quartz combined with binding polyester resins and pigments to add colour.   For an added effect, recycled glass or metallic flecks are added in certain lines during the manufacturing process.  It’s non-porous so it won’t harbor bacteria in tiny cracks like other materials.   It's also more resistant to staining and better at resisting heat in comparison to laminate surfaces such as Formica.  In the majority of cases, quartz surfaces don’t require resealing like other surfaces such as granite.

The easiest way to keep stone surfaces looking great is to avoid bad habits that may cause damage.  Quartz, granite, marble, travertine, soapstone, and other stone surfaces are similar in many ways, but their differences require varying degrees of maintenance.  No matter what type of stone surface, following a general care & maintenance routine will eliminate most potential issues without ever having to think too hard about it or worry about causing damage.  Using warm water and a soft, non-abrasive sponge to wipe up spills and debris will keep stone surfaces clean and tidy throughout the day.   A quick spray and wipe of the most heavily used areas with a stone surface cleaner will adequately clean, disinfect, and protect the stone surface for years to come.

DO’s

• Blot up spills immediately. Acidic substances like wine, coffee, fruit juices, tomato sauce, and soft drinks can potentially stain a surface over time. Cooking oils should also be cleaned up asap.
• Use coasters under all glasses, bottles, and cans. Use trivets and hot pads under pots, pans, and dinnerware.
• Use cutting boards.
• Use caution when sliding pots across stone surfaces.

DON’T’s

• Don’t use generic cleaners (bleach, glass cleaners) or natural cleaning products (vinegar, ammonia, lemon, orange) as cleaners.
• Don’t use bathroom, tub & tile, or grout cleaners. Powders and even ‘soft’ creams contain abrasives that will scratch and dull surfaces.
• Don’t sit or stand on your stone surfaces or overload sinks.
• Don’t place toiletry products directly on surfaces (sprays, creams, lotions, nail polish).

We offer free estimates with no pressure to purchase (priced in square feet).  Although we will provide estimates based on customer measurements by phone and email, we do require final measurements to be taken by our team to ensure accuracy.

We invite you to choose the stone surface of your choice from our shop inventory or from one of our suppliers. 

All quotes include standard thickness, installation levelling, choice of standard edge profile, seam joining, fixture cut-outs and sink cut-outs. We will also include a sink from our standard list for your project.

Extras include backsplash, choice of upgrade edge profile, upgraded sinks and faucets and increased material thickness. More complex designs and installations are subject to price increase.

Sales order pricing is valid for 14 days from order date. Additional changes or services may affect price. Upon order acceptance, a 50% deposit is required with balance due upon completion. Projects are only entered into the production schedule once a deposit has cleared payment. Balance payments for supply-only projects to be cleared before pick-up/delivery.

We guarantee workmanship of fabricated materials and sink installations (as applicable) under normal use, as installed, for the period of one (1) year from installation date.  Our warranty does not cover replacements or corrections or any results of misuse, including, but not limited to, improper maintenance or normal wear and tear nor does it cover any variations in colour, markings or inconsistencies.  We reserve the right to inspect the project for installation warranty claims.  Our warranty covers installation only, and in no way provides a warranty against over-exposure to natural light, scratches or staining by human error, or pitting/fissures (natural occurrences) in any material.  Our warranty is non-transferable and only applies to the original owner of the project.  Upon request, we can provide all other product warranty information where applicable and available.
